With the completion of Cameby Downs Coal Mine, Stage 1, area 10 and 20, Syntech Resources issued ATW Group with Tender documents for the next part of stage one; Area’s 30, 40 and 50

This project entailed the supply, fabricate, preassemble and deliver 400t of structural steel and plate work for the Cameby Downs Coal Mine project. The area’s consisted of a coal preparation plant, product & reject handling and load out facility. This job is a wash plant facility consisting of fabricated bins, conveyors gantries, crusher feeders, sump washers, chutes and rail bridge structures. The TLO train load out bin with a 7.5 meter diameter and 14 meters in length, this bin was completely fabricated inside our workshop, with our over head cranes assisting in all movement of the bin. Our heavy fabrication engineering employees completed this section of the project in record time.

Syntech Resources requested Quality Assurance to ISO:9001 was in place; we designed and programmed a quality assurance safety management system that Syntech Resources has recognised as a highly efficient and comprehensive system. Tracking the project and ensuring 100% quality throughout.

This project required major acceleration due to the projects late commencement, with this firmly in mind, ATW extended our trading hours to ensure the job completion date wasn’t altered.

With an extensive work load, ATW Group employs men from all areas of engineering experience and background, from tank builders to specialised pipe welders and pressure welding to help complete this contract, our main concern was to meet AS1554.1-5 standards and to delivery this project on-time without delay.

This project required abrasive blasting to class 2.5, with a two coat paint system, interzinc 52 at 75 microns undercoating the steel with a 200 microns top coat of Interguard 475 AU with its high performance intermediate finish coat, outstanding moisture, chemical and solvent resistance, suitable for atmospheric and immersion service. This top coat is extremely tough when cured and will resist most damage. All sand blasting was done on the premises in our fully enclosed abrasive blasting facility then moving along to protective coatings which is also an indoor facility minimising environmental damage and safety issues for other employees and members of the public.

Syntech Resources also required the pre-assembly of conveyors gantries and bins was carried out within 10,000sqm of hard stand yard. This was an easy task for us with all our own access equipment and mobile cranes. Our 50t Liebherr truck mounted all terrain crane had no problem completing this project and moving the structures onto semi trailers for transport. ATW transport division was making 8 trips per week to Cameby Downs with our prime movers hauling over sized loads up to 27 meter long .police and our in-house pilot were used to complete delivery safely.
